Over the years, the Pirtek Fishing Challenge has strived to provide the best opportunities for competitors to fish their local area.
The Challenge provides state-based and non-state-based categories, and this can become a little confusing when boundaries overlap. So here is a summary of where you can fish in each state.

NSW / ACT
All of the Northern Territory, plus northern WA is covered by the Top End category. There are two saltwater target species in the Top End category this year.
There are three saltwater species, plus you may also fish for freshwater species in the MDB, Great Dividing Range and East Coast Freshwater categories. In total, there are eight species for Queensland.
There are two saltwater species, plus you may also fish for freshwater species in the MDB category. In total, there are five species for South Australia. (Note, due to state regulations, Murray Cod is excluded for South Australian competitors, if it is selected as a target species this year.)
There is one saltwater and one freshwater target species for Tasmania.
